Back to Brum in the Summer (but only to visit)
This week's good news is that the company's annual piss-up will be held at the Birmingham Metropole, accomodation included, so I will get a chance to catch up with people at the company's expense. Wahey!

You scored as Friedrich Nietzsche. Well you're an egotistical maniac, and you are so very iconoclastic that you probably are currently lost in a post-modern Jupiter, I mean jungle of self-definition.

Don't let it get you down though, someday, through a willful onslaught of reinterpretation of dated forms and ideas, you will strike on something that passes as remotely new, and people WILL be into it on the basis of how hip it is alone. Also, the average espresso drinker looks up to you.

I will be the first to admit, I watch some right old tosh and generally enjoy it, so here I was looking forward to watching the first 2 episodes, keen that the BBC seem to be re-establishing the Saturday tea-time Adventure serials, hot on the success of the New Who...

    Oh Dear...

...Oh Dear, oh dear, oh dear...

...What a load of rubbish! I mean ok, the new Rob has a certain feckless charm and Keith does do a pretty good sheriff. But that's about it, lots of money spent on passable sets and reasonable costumes, well okay for Am-Dram or Fancy Dress in any event. Bugger all dramatic tension, the cast seem to amble aimlessly through a risible script. The clumsy attempts to make it relevant and maybe a little "street" have all the subtlety of an episode of "Bottom" (but not nearly so much fun (and I don't even like "Bottom")).

We also have the least threatening Guy of Guisborne to date in his big scary plastic mac who probably just needs a little time with a guidance councillor to stop him pouting like a big girls blouse. Last but not least, no bloodshed, just Robin's implausable trick archery, probably learnt from the same place Xena picked up her Chakram skills, and a bit of pushing and shoving. For drama, tension and quality of script this actually ways in after "Maid Marion and her Merry Men" Mind you that was rather fun.

In short I'm not sure that I liked it :o)

Just ordered my tickets for my visit to [info]janinemarriott & co. Looking forward to it immensely. Slow weekend, catching up on sleep and probably finishing watching "Rome" on DVD. Highlight of the week (and I cannot stress the sarcasm in my voice highly enough) was a "Motivational Visit" by Johnny Ball, oh how blessed we are. Finally got my altar set up and am probably going to have a few of the Stockport Moot come over for a few drinkies later in the month. My first trip to the Manchester Moot is set for Monday.

You scored as Old-school Goth. You are an old-school goth. Forget Tina and Rogue, your idols are still Siouxsie and Peter and Fat Bob, and black lipstick and white powder is still the way to go. Click on my name to take my other tests if you liked this one.

    Hello Stockport!!!!
I thought I'd start with a rock 'n' roll theme, if somewhat outdated but the hell. I'm actually finally starting to find my feet. I have to say it's taken me longer to settle in up here than anywhere else I've moved to. It could be my age or it could be that money has been tight, who knows. Having said that I have spent an obscene amount of money this month and will definitely be nursing a sore bank account for a while. Still I have New Rocks, a kick-ass new coffee maker to fuel my insomnia and a shiny new Palm T/X, which I have to say rocks. Not up to much this weekend as we had to call off a planned trip to ARA (next month for sure goddammit!), so just chilling out and catching up with some much needed housework. The real bitch of living on your own is not having anybody to pick up after you!
